Defending champion and world number one, Mark Selby beat Xiao Guodong 13-6 to reach the quarter-finals of the World Championship for the seventh time.
After leading 10-6 overnight, Selby burst out of the traps with a break of 101 to set the benchmark for the rest of the match.
He followed up with another strong break of 73, and then 60, to set up a clash with either Marco Fu or 2010 champion Neil Robertson on Tuesday.
Speaking after the match, Selby said: “As yet, I don’t feel as though I’ve peaked to the top of my game but I think that’s a good thing. If I’d have peaked in the first round or second round the only way you can go from that is down.
“I feel as though my game’s not been fantastic, but also not been poor so I’ll be happy with that leading into the quarter-final.”
