Diving even further under the radar (although, by no means for long), today we’re looking at the apocalyptic synth tones of Mercury Rising.

This local super-group consists of Reverend and the Makers Joe Moscow and Stuart Doughty and Steve Edwards of Lords of Flatbush and a handful of other musical exploits.

Check out Lords of Flatbush’s ‘999’. There’s also a fantastic Toddla T remix (another Sheffield based artist incidently) of this floating around the internet

Anyway I digress; back to the band at hand.

Mercury Rising played their debut gig at Tramlines this year (a recurring theme with these blogs… Tramlines was fantastic) and recently supported Kate Jackson, former lead singer of the Long Blondes, at her homecoming show at plug last week.
