Ignore the sickly cards and teddies this valentine’s day and do something extra special that you’ll both enjoy.
Lokanta Restaurant, Ecclesall Road
Treat your loved one to the delights of Turkish cuisine with a meze sharing menu perfectly designed for two. Boasting a selection of authentic dishes to choose from, indulge in a feast of starters, shish kebabs and grills that ensures even the fussiest of eaters will be catered for whilst trying something a little more exotic.
Ice skating, Ice Sheffield
Ideal for the more energetic couple (or perhaps those in the early dating stages) to whizz around hand in hand for the evening without the usual candles and flowers delirium. Skating prices vary, but are generally quite cheap for that ‘thought that counts’ factor and the yellow route tram service practically drops you at the door.
The Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield City Centre
Perhaps I am the bearer of bad news, but it just so happens that Legally Blonde the Musical is showing at the Lyceum Theatre on Valentine’s day. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if your partner loves it, securing a couple of tickets is sure to keep you in the good books for a long time. Unfortunately tickets don’t always come cheap, but if live theatre is your thing, you could research some other plays/musicals showing around Sheffield. Your friends never need to know.
La Mama restaurant Abbeydale Road, Sheffield
Nothing says romantic meal more than a Latin Tapas bar and this one has certainly been struck by cupids arrow. A live jazz band will serenade couples and the ‘Valentina’ is even greeted with a gift on arrival. Probably best for hard core romantics.
