The sunny weather that Sheffield has been enjoying recently brought everyone out to the parks, gardens, or in fact any available patch of grass (anyone walking past the sunbathers on the grass outside the Hallamshire Hospital will know exactly what I mean).
And with the warm weather, comes the very British need to dress like we are wandering around the Caribbean. Shorts, flip flops, I even saw a girl sitting in Endcliffe Park wearing a bikini last weekend.
To be honest, not everyone looks their best.
But how do you dress for the summer without looking too under dressed, avoiding situations where less, is really too much more?
Unfortunately, some of this seasons trends mean that unless you want to avoid them altogether, or have them look incredibly unflattering on you, you may have to head to the gym.
The shorts for this season are getting shorter and shorter…and shorter.
Hot pants have also made a big comeback, although the general consensus is that they are for wear with heels only, hot pants and flip flops are not a great look.
Curvier figures could go for the looser high waisted shorts, particularly in floral patterns that distract from a curvier leg.
Playsuits and Jumpsuits are also making a comeback, and playsuits are a particular must if, like many students you will be heading to a music festival this year.
Team a flowery playsuit with a pair of wellies and there you have it, festival chic.
Last year, many celebrities were spotted at various music festivals with that exact look.
Tip for curvier ladies, if you’re going for a playsuit, choose a halterneck to accentuate your bust, with a belt around the middle to show off your waist.
And for the days when it’s not quite Caribbean weather, there’s the boyfriend jacket to keep the chill away, make it oversized and roll up the sleeves for a chilled, summery casual look.
Voila! How to dress for summer without undressing!
