Following the events in Manchester, Sheffield City Council has announced that a vigil will take place in the Peace Gardens at 6:00pm, with Sheffield’s Lord Mayor among the speakers. The message invites people to bring flowers to lay “as a show of solidarity”.
The University of Sheffield has also released the following statement regarding the attacks:
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the events in Manchester and our thoughts are with all those affected.
We are currently unaware of any staff or students directly affected.

The university chaplaincy also offers support to students of all faiths and none.
