Occupy Sheffield forced to leave Cathedral site

Occupy Sheffield was set up in early November

Occupy Sheffield will be forced to leave the Cathedral forecourt this weekend.

Protesters must leave the site by Monday at 4pm after the cathedral won the rights to its forecourt at Sheffield County Court this morning.

The cathedral took legal action to clear the protest after the Dean expressed his concerns over the ‘illegal encampment’. The cathedral is also planning a development project for the site.

Protesters set up camp outside the cathedral on November 5 as part of the worldwide Occupy movement.
