A 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on Alma Street in Shalesmoor at 4am last Saturday.

Police want to speak to a white man in his 30s, 5’7”, slim, with cropped dark hair, blue eyes, and a local accent.

He wore a dark waterproof jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes.

Anyone who was in the Brook Hill or Shalesmoor areas around this time and believes they saw this man should contact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 and ask to speak to DS Mark Ellis at West Bar CID, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
DS Ellis said: “We are asking that people are vigilant and advise them to travel by taxi or public transport, if you do have to walk, avoid walking alone and always use a well lit route.”
He said that police have increased patrols in the area and police do not believe the assault is connected to other incidents in the north of Sheffield in November.
