Police are warning students to take extra care at night

Students are being told to take extra care when returning home after a female student was assaulted in the early hours of Monday morning.

The girl was attacked by a man whilst she was getting out of a taxi on Whitham Road at 3am and had her property stolen.
Police have described the man as black African, in his 20s, around 5’8″/9″, wearing a pink hooded jumper and speaking a Yorkshire accent.
South Yorkshire Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference 100.
