Construction work on the concourse outside the Students’ Union building has begun again following the conclusion of graduation ceremonies.
Work has been ongoing outside the building, aiming to make the space safer as well as giving it a new look.
Much of the work was completed before graduation, and fences were taken down to allow celebrations to take place, but parts of the concourse which weren’t completed in time for graduation were covered with makeshift tarmac.
The area has now been cordoned off again, and the tarmac has been dug up for work to continue on the brickwork.
A spokesperson from Estates & Facilities Management said the work was due to be complete in September, ready for the new academic year. They added that the contractor and the in-house landscape team worked hard to make the area look as nice as possible for graduates last week, as well as giving them full use of the concourse.
